Oklahoma dismisses Trejan Bridges, Seth McGowan amid police investigation
Oklahoma wide receiver Trejan Bridges and running back Seth McGowan are no longer with the team, head coach Lincoln Riley said Thursday. "They're not members of our program anymore," he said. "We wish them the very best going forward."
Bridges and McGowan were identified by Norman police last week as suspects in an alleged armed robbery committed on April 15. Police searched Bridges’ Norman apartment the following day and recovered a Glock .45-caliber handgun, loaded magazines, drug paraphernalia and a “bag of green substance appearing to be marijuana.”
Details of the incident were revealed in the police affidavit for a search warrant, obtained by The Athletic. Documents were filed April 30 with the Cleveland County District Court. No charges have been filed.
Oklahoma announced the suspension of two players on April 16, citing an “ongoing investigation,” but did not name them. Neither McGowan nor Bridges appeared in the Sooners’ April 24 spring game.
Both players are former four-star recruits. Bridges had nine catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns the last two seasons, while McGowan had 571 total yards (370 rushing) and four touchdowns (three rushing) in 2020.

Where does this leave Oklahoma's offense?
Jason Kersey, Oklahoma beat writer: Bridges was having a monster spring before this incident and probably would have started at outside receiver this fall. His talent and ball skills would have made him a matchup nightmare if he could have stayed out of trouble. It's no surprise that Riley went out and added Arkansas transfer Mike Woods after this happened because it leaves OU with depth problems at the outside spots.
McGowan flashed some really good things as a freshman last fall, and his dismissal leaves OU with just four scholarship running backs, one of whom is converted H-back Mikey Henderson.
