Three movies featuring Clairvoyants you must see
Watching a movie is still one of our favorite ways to relax and kick back. You can be whisked off to a place far removed from the grind of everyday life or experience a world that, in reality, you would never get to explore.
The range of titles is quite staggering, from science fiction to sport to comedy, to the recent record-breaking Avengers: Endgame movie; there is so much choice. But what of the Clairvoyant, and movies featuring those gifted with being able to see into the future? There have been some classic titles that depict these often quirky individuals that will be remembered amongst the all-time greats.
With that in mind, here are three movies featuring those with powers to see into the future or at least read it that you must see. Read on to find out more:
Ghost – 1990
When Sam Wheat, played by Patrick Swayze, is killed in what appears to be a mugging, he is turned into a ghost that is trapped between the world of the living and the world of the dead, unable to interact with anyone around him.
In his desperation, he seeks the help of Oda Mae Brown, who is practicing as a link between the world of the living and the dead. She has actually been pretending for many years without realizing she has true psychic powers until Sam starts to communicate with her.
She soon realizes what she must do, and she begins to help Sam resolve his issues and unravel the truth about what happened to him. Whoopi Goldberg plays the role superbly, starring in this classic that was produced on a budget of $22m and has cemented itself as a great for all time.
Poltergeist – 1982
When a family moves into a new home, they find it to be inhabited by a poltergeist. The house was built on a graveyard, and the family employ a psychic to help them find out what is going on. While sites such as TheCircle now offer psychic services via the internet or phone, back in 1982, a house visit was definitely in order. Tangina Barron, played by Zelda Rubenstein, helps to uncover the truth about why this house and family are being targeted.
Rubenstein won the Saturn Award for the Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie, and she would later appear in the sequel as well. Poltergeist was a front runner for many modern horrors in film and TV that have followed and has a place in film history guaranteed.
The Sixth Sense – 1999
Another classic, this time starring Bruce Willis as Malcolm Crowe, The Sixth Sense was nominated for a number of awards and brought director M. Night Shyamalan to a wider audience. A little boy named Cole Sear, played by Haley Joel Osment, can see dead people and finds out that he needs to help them in order for them to stop appearing to him.
With the help of Malcolm, they start to help the deceased overcome the reasons why they are not moving on to the next life in a movie that will remain a favorite of moviegoers everywhere.
