The Sun reports that X Factor boss Simon Cowell wanted Dannii Minogue back on the judging panel of the UK edition of the show - because of her breasts.
The UK tabloid says Cowell put the hard word on the head of ITV earlier this year in a bid to revive flagging ratings.
He wanted the channel to "splash out millions to secure a deal" with Minogue, who left the show in 2011.
Officially, the reason for her departure was the clash between the filming of The X Factor and the live shows of Australia's Got Talent.
However, pundits speculated that real reason was her demands for more money and a strained relationship with the other judges.
According to The Sun, which cites new revelations in the paperback edition of Cowell's biography, the discussions with ITV came soon after the tabloid revealed Cowell had had an affair with Minogue.
Cowell told ITV boss Peter Fincham: "Bring her back to X Factor . . . everyone will be looking at her tits."
However, the negotiations between the channel and Minogue fell through, with Minogue rejecting the £2 million ($3 million) deal offered.
In his biography, Cowell admitted he was in love with Minogue for years. He is quoted as saying: "I had a crush on her. It was Dannii's hair, the sexy clothes and the t**s. I was like a schoolboy. She was foxy. She was a real man's girl. Very feminine."
